I'll be in Salem, SC for a few days prior to the 21st returning to Dallas the 22nd. Is anyone up for a quick Happy Hour or get together at Lake Jocassee? (Actually it would be at the Hot Hole if diving and Bill aka OTWDiver has a new COVERED BOAT if you want to dive and STAY ROASTY TOASTY WARM!)

Awesome! Funny you should mention Clemson...we'll be renewing our vows on Thursday the 19th at the pretty little church at Clemson. (That is why I'll be there!)

I might be able to swing a one-day trip to Jocassee that day, but I don't know if I can stay for a HH. My wedding anniversary is that same weekend on Sunday, so I would (obviously) need to be back in Atlanta in time for that. However, there is a slim chance that my wife and I might go out of town for that weekend, so no guarantees. Let me know when you have details on the diving, and I will keep everyone posted.

I dive dry in fresh water (especially in March), so weather and cold are less of an issue for me than for others. FYI, it's about a 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta, so a mid-morning or early afternoon departure would work best for me.

Since there would be only one charter...keeping to the summer regime of am/pm charter times is not necessary. I'm sure we can do a midam-ish range so that people can get there ok and still get back home to celebrate ANNIVERSARIES!!!

Seems like I'll be pursuing my DM cert this year and I just might be able to be on the "warm and enclosed" boat for the hot hole whether I dive or not. Congratulations on the renewal. I know Cassie will enjoy the service and celebration and Andrew will look good in your family pictures.

As for Anniversaries, they should be spent in the water if at all possible. My anniversary dive trip was great until OTW answered a phone call from my wife and mentioned how I should be at home with her haha.

I can make the drive up there from Atlanta on the 21st. But when you say the water is warm, how warm are we talking about?

Warm is a relative term...we are in SC ya know!

The hot hole is low 60's compared to the rest of the lake being low 50's. That is why it is called the Hot Hole! (In the summer it is low 90's!)

You can of course come up to cruise the lake if its too chilly for ya!

Well it turns out that my wife is going to be working that weekend anyway, so I think I may have clearance (Clarence) to come up for a day of diving, and could maybe even stay a little later for a HH if we have one. I don't know where in Seneca SC you can actually have a Happy Hour, but I am sure Kamala will find a place if there is one! Is the new marina open yet? Maybe they have a restaurant there.

Anybody interested in car-pooling up from Atlanta for the day?

Sorry for not checking in earlier...we need 4 peeps to run the trip and Rocky does not count since he would be crew...so by my best count we still don't have enough.

We can still do a HH but we won't have enough for a boat dive...I'm very conjested and can't clear so that leaves possibly Matt, Jim and Brad but not the 4th person we'd need since I'm out.

I am sorry it does not seem to be working out...kamala

My original inquiry was never intended to impugn your efforts! Quite the opposite! I expected to learn what a rollicking good time was anticipated for the vicarious benefit of SD as a whole. Gosh knows you are constantly running at flank bell with the boilers at 110%, and you deserve a little down time and quiet break with the hubby. Enjoy! We will all be here clamoring for your attention when you resurface, albeit figuratively in this instance...

Oh, and on behalf of the rest of SD let me once again say for all you do. We realize SD is team driven, and the fringe benefits you accrue make the stress worthwhile, yet we would not have opportunities to meet such an eclectic and engaging group of singles while enjoying exotic destinations many will only dream of without YOU to make it possible.
