2010 DISCUSSION: Turks & Caicos LIVEABOARD!!

Looking at Turks and Caicos on Explorer Ventures....the very long island chain that is PERFECT to dive on a liveaboard cruising up and down! :wakawaka:

Ok so it will be WARM! (At least its tropical compared to say MN or NJ!) ;)

We can do a DAY AFTER NEW YEAR'S PARTY!!! We'll travel on the 2nd and just continue to the party!

or

We can do the 'almost Valentine's Day' trip Feb 6-13th.

AND we can get an extra discount on these two dates. The normal trip price is $1695 for d/o cabin with private head, all inclusive including sodas, beer, wine, hard alcohol, etc. But we can get an early booking discount of $150 per person on the standard cabins and $250 on the deluxe cabins.

Anyone interested? I have to jump on this one soon...it won't last long with the extra discounts! :cool2:

WOW! No replies to this one yet...does that mean no one wants to travel to T&C? OR is the price too much? Or you just don't want to dive in Jan or Feb on these dates?

Me too. Between ski season and being and the year end reporting for january and initial budget update in February, those are tough times to take off.

End of April, End of July and End of October are my optimal trip times.

I thought that the New Year's trip you did this year was a great idea, and if I hadn't had other committments would have gone. For teachers, doing something that ends the first few days of January is possible, but if you go beyond the first week, we're out. I imagine the cost is higher that way though?

This is exaclty the kind of trip I'd be interested in. Didn't see this yesterday.

It's so interesting - dive shops here offer 80% of their trips over the winter as that's when divers want to go. June - Sept. are more local events, camping and diving weekends, Great Lakes, etc.

... the full week after new years or the full week before xmas, not sure which is worse. Those are probably the only two weeks I can never be on a trip, until I hit my lotto and retire :cheerleader:

Feb date is better, but I had a nice trip the last time I was on the T&C Explorer and I'm now not feeling the love from AA (they canceled the DFW-PLS direct flight last year and jacked up the DFW-MIA-PLS fares). All in all, not a trip I'd stretch for, unless it was a holiday week like Memorial day or Thanksgiving. But I am a bit surprised there was not so much interest in the Feb date; that is a nice deal on a great trip. Nobody thinking yet about non-exotic trips for next year?

I want to know about this one as well. I get a little leery of saying I am interested sometimes because I WANT TO GO ON THEM ALL.

But I am making a commitment to see more dive locations in and around the Caribbean and this would make a great liveaboard. And I love liveaboards.

And maybe, just maybe my favorite Boat Captain will be on the job down there -- gotta love Lowell.
