Hi there!

Ive got a friend who is taking his four (late teenage and early 20's) children and several of their friends to Grand Cayman in early January. He wants to do some diving with them (they are certified and he is a dive master) as well as have access to snorkeling and other activities. The kids are newer divers so nothing too challenging. They do want to do the stingray city visit.

Any suggestions for where they could stay? It will be a mixed group of boys and girls of about 8. They would ideally like to find a place they could rent with a kitchen/ette so they can cut down on costs and prepare some of their own meals, snacks etc.

Also, any suggestions for the best dive sites, or anything else that comes to mind should you have visited there before, would be most appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Yep, Sunset House is good. Most places in Grand Cayman are condos with full kitchens, especially in the 7 Mile Beach area, so that shouldn't be a problem. I also like to dive with Eden Rock, great diving & snorkelling right off their shore area, and I think they have condos tool Any way you can save a nickel on Grand Cayman is good! $20+ hamburger meals are ridiculous!

Another great option would be Belize at the Tides Hotel. They are kid friendly and have lots of things to do for a family AND THEY HAVE SUITES with fully stocked kitchens, refrigerators...so perfect for a family....not to mention some great deals now too via SingleDivers.com! They could even join us when we are there and be their OWN GROUP within our group!

Just got back from Grand Caymen a couple weeks ago, stayed at Compass Point and dove with Ocean Frontiers [at the resort]. They are located on the East End, definitely the QUIET and isolated end of the island. There are also several larger condo complexes on the East End, and met others on the dive boats who were staying in them, but diving w/Ocean Frontiers. The serevice was great, the only complaint I had was the dm/guide would rush through a 30 minute
tour then leave you below the boat if you wanted to extend your bottom time, which of course I did. Sting Ray City was great, you really get to interact with them.

Enjoy your trip!!!

We are also set up as resellers for them as well. Lots of choices but I think the total value of Belize might be cheaper for the group and more options for kids. kamala

My understanding is that they already have airfare & hotel booked, but are looking at alternative lodging options on Grand Cayman. So changing it to Belize really isn't an option.

I'd have to add my support for Sunset House. I've stayed there twice and had a wonderful time. As for dive sites, I really enjoyed Royal Palms Ledge.

Have fun!

Gotcha! I will see what specials I may be able to book them in at both Sunset House or others tomorrow and let you know along with availability of course!

So is it a total of 8 kids plus 1 or 2 adults or 8 including the adults? I will need to know how many adults and how many kids? Also how many people do they want per room/suite?
