Hi Gang!

As most of you know (hopefully), I had the wonderful opportunity to play some of my "Scuba Music" for the crowd down at DEMA in November, 2009, thanks largely to the efforts of our illustrious leader WreckWench (thanks again darlin'!). Well, I have a chance to play several tradeshows this year as well, starting with this one in Chicago, Feb. 19-21. I am just curious if anyone has been there and what they thought of the show. I know this one is attended by scuba divers more so than DEMA is, which I think will actually work to my advantage, as they are the folks who typically buy my CD's for personal use rather than to resell them. Bottom line, I need to decide whether the investment is worth the expense... same boat we're all in these days. To be honest, even if I just break even on the trip, it is a win in my book, since it expands my fanbase and I get mileage out of the exposure. It's all about doing what I love to do the most and being able to share with the best people in the world... my dive buddies!

I'm really just trying to get a feel for what people in the area think of this show and of course if anyone is going to be there from the SD.com gang, I would love to meet you in person! Any Happy Hours planned or anything like that?

Please share your thoughts about the show here. Also, if you have suggestions for accomodations, must-see sites, etc. that would be great too. I've spent a little time in the windy city, but not too much. I'm from Michigan originally, so I am used to the cold!

all SD members Chi Twn area.I drove along River Rd where the Stevenson Ctr,hosting the OWUW Show.As our show date is quickly approaching we need to arrive at a HH DATE ie Sat 20th--Sun 21st??. Mortons which is a walk from the Bldg. is across-------- the st. There hrs are Sat 5:30 -11:00 Sun 5:00--10.00. It seems that they would be the selection of choice. SD would like to see a show of hands,who would like what date to be our HH. As far as Hotels go. Hyatt is a walk to the North,Rosemont,Embassy Suites & Double Tree are across the ST.Lets have a GREAT TURN OUT FOR SD!

Hey Pup SD will have its first booth at the show this year. It was a little quick in the past couple of weeks but it should all fall into place.

I hope you can do the show...I've not done it but it is the 3rd largest show in the US behind BTS in NJ and The Scuba Show in CA. Kamala

SD would like to see a show of hands,who would like what date to be our HH.

I can make this simpler for everyone. On 3 day show weekends Saturday is the best day for the HH. On 2 day long shows then Friday is the best choice if the show is Friday/Saturday or Saturday if the show is Sat/Sun.

So that means the HH will be on Saturday!

And it will either be at one of the hotels that Greg will be scoping out for us nearby or at Mortons.

My guess is all will be crowded so we need a place where we can put up a banner so people can find us more readily and we need a place that we can send someone EARLY to hold a table for us. The latter is critical...call it the 'early HH squad' but this task is vital!
