Newbie here! Living overseas I am a spoiled diver having logged 100+ dives in Fiji and 30+ dives in Thailand. Headed home to the US for Xmas holidays and would like some recommendations or advice regarding diving in Caribbean or Central America. Really prefer warm water 25C or 77F or warmer as I prefer to dive w/o a wet suit or 2mm shorty at most. Have some free time before the Xmas holidays December 19 - December 23 to get some diving in and would like to know where to dive or places to avoid. Also important, not only looking for great diving and warm water but good night life after diving if possible. Any recommendations or guidance is highly appreciated.

Hello Mike and to our wet and wacky corner of the web. If you have time we encourage you to post a little about yourself here in the "New to SD or Returning" forum. Also, be sure to review our fearless (well, except or cold water) leader Kamala's list of upcoming dive destinations! You'll find them via this link. Obviously December is a challenging time for warm water spots in CONUS; even the Keys are not a sure bet. However, Kamala has plenty of warm water destinations on tap including Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, and other Caribbean dive meccas within reasonable reach of the USA.

As Brad said, that time of year is winter here (I know, we're backwards! ) so finding 77 degree water at Christmas is a challenge, even in the southern Caribbean. If you're willing to dive 72-77, you really expand your options, especially for the night life!

Excuse me? There is a side of you I haven't..... seen.... yet !!
Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.
If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.

Extraordinary! I posted here hours ago but now my post isn't here.
I wrote that Kamala is running a trip down here to Belize at around that time, and that would be a good time to sample "SD". Water temps will be in the upper 70's/low 80's, diving will be varied and high quality (though no wrecks), and if it's anything like the several other trips a good time will be had by all!
