I just found out today that I am going to Misawa Air Base, Japan, northern, around mid July for 3 weeks with my Air Force Reserve unit. I was told by a former coworker that you could see the ocean from the Transportation Dispatch Office. That means that I will plan to take my diving gear. I have only dove stateside and in Belize, so I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has dove in this area, or in Japan in general. My buddy said he was going to get certified, but not sure if he did yet. If I take my gear, I will have to dive in the local area since I will save most of my pay for my upcoming wedding. Plus, not sure if we will get any full days off for me to get a full day of diving in.
