? All in all, 6 great dives, a good test of skills, one great weekend. :cool1:

Clint,Great collection of photos. What version of Angel fish were those. From the looks of all divers,I only noticed one with a drysuit..How were the temps??Maybe next yr. for me...The locals, "tigers" seemed to be impartial and have little or no interest to y'all.

Looking at my dive log, water temp averaged mid 70s at the bottom. On the Schurz, it was 70.

I seem to have ended up with a lot of sea urchin photos. I guess they moved at a speed that matched my u/w photo skills.

:cool1: Hey Clint, even professional photographers take hundreds of pictures, and are happy with maybe one or two. Just keep taking the pics - and sharing.....

I do have a tip to pass on to fellow novice photographers. When you get out of the water, turn your camera off from shooting video. Otherwise on the next dive you'll find you have a low battery, full memory card, and 30 min of EXCITING camera bucket footage. :lmao:

I"ve done the same thing, but I ended up with 30 sec of published cool footage on the surface and sweeping the boat until splash down into the bucket.

The gulf stream comes into NC and sometimes actually goes all the way to shore! Very :lmao: The blue WARM waters of the gulf push the Atlantic out but sometimes there is mixing and/or a thermal cline as it makes it way inland. The surface temps were low 80's which was nice but the thermocline in most cases felt nice and then you hardly noticed it except for the chilly dive on the USS Schurz which dropped to 70 at the bottom. And yet the top was still 80+.

Sadly it was so chilly as it is my favorite wreck and I found one bullet casing and one piece of porcelain shard. :cool1:

We even found what we think is another ammo locker hatch but it will take a lot of digging to get it out....ah there is always the next time! ;)

The locals, "tigers" seemed to be impartial and have little or no interest to y'all.

They are Atlantic Sand Tigers but not really a 'Tiger' shark. They look ferocious but they are really puppies in the water. And if you don't mind them...they won't mind you! :cool1:

p.s. start saving now...we'll be doing NC again over the 4th of July in 2012!

Thanks, after getting my cert for dry Sunday.I know now I can be comfortable and adjusted my Undergarment to a sweat suit.In those temps and in lieu of wearing the artic 4th element.
Those temps were warmer for that area, than the norm???If I recalled a comment by Kamala from a trip ,a yr ago ,it was cooler.

p.s. I didn't see Kamala's post above here before I reponded.Thank you.

Actually these are COOLER than normal temps. It should have been top to bottom 80+ by now.

Sorry this has taken so long to get posted. I'll mirror the comments of the others that the conditions were good. We had a great trip and 6 very good dives. The varied dives from the WWI and WWII casualties to the more recent reefed ships to the deep ledges gave everyone a taste of what North Carolina has to offer. I had a very good time, met some great people, and rekindled friendships from previous SD trips. To sum it up another fun trip with WW and her band of merry elves!

I added a couple of new pics today as well

Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.

If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.
