Resqdew - please let me know on the dive park near the hilton caribe. My plan right now is to come to PR in spring of next year if this one boat gets the UPR contract again. I will probably come for 2 weeks 1 on the boat and then 1 on the west coast before flying back home.

Attached is a map of the Escambron Marine Park on the north shore of Puerto Rico. If anyone else checks this thread they can have access to the map too.
This is not just a dive park, but a general marine park where it's safe (safer than open ocean) to enjoy water activities. Albert at Scuba Dogs in Puerto Rico sent me the map on 10/20/11.

Susan

FYI - - there are MUCH better places to dive in Puerto Rico than this marine park, but it would be better than nothing if you didn't have time to make other arrangements.
Thx

Second (3rd - 4th?) the motion on Taino in Rincon.

I also dove with Paradise out of La Paguara and was very happy.

The advice to call ahead is a good one - business was slow in late April / early May when I was there, and both said they had to cancel more than they would like, but it just doesn't pay to take the boat out without enough customers.
No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.
