I'm signed up on Solmar V for the Guadalupe Island Great White Shark "dive" mid-August!

The operator strongly suggests that I buy or rent a 7mm suit because water temperatures are expected to be upper 60s - lower 70s. I've learned that for normal SCUBA diving I only need a 3mm shorty if the temp is 72 or higher and a 5mm if colder, but reviewing my logbook I find the coldest water I've been in was 65, excluding one dive where upwelling cold water registered 60 degrees for about 10 minutes during which I was cold in my 5mm.

I'd appreciate info on actual temps you've experienced on this or similar Guadalupe trip and recommendation whether my 5mm full suit will or will not be sufficient.
