We do 2-4 liveaboards a year. Some love them and some can't be trapped on a boat 24x7.

Also in tight times people often want land based as they often are 50-75% of the price of a liveaboard.

In 2011 we had the following liveaboards:

  • Saba & St Kitts
  • Truk
  • Mayaguana

In 2012 we have the following liveaboards planned:

  • Mayaguana Labor Day Weekend
  • TBD

In 2013 we have the following liveaboards planned:

  • Maldives Feb
  • TBD

In 2014 we have the following liveaboards planned:

  • Truk Feb
  • TBD

do you have a particular place you want to do a liveaboard too? 95% of the places we go via liveabaord are member requests!

Here's my list of places I would like to see from a liveaboard. They may be more money but if you do 5 dives a day the price per dive is not to bad when you throw in all the amenities.
Fiji
Raja Ampat
Philippines
Komodo
Indonesia

I feel the same way as Steve. I also agree with his list. When you add the cost of airfare to the price of a trip, land based and liveaboards are both costly. To me, the comforts and ease on a liveaboard, coupled with the ability to do up to twice as much diving, is worth the extra cost of the trip.

You can do the Philippines, do 4 dives per day land-based, all-inclusive (except booze) very inexpensively! It's also nice to experience the culture of these far-away places, other than just their airports. :teeth:

Have no specific areas in mind. Like the dive dive dive mentality of a liveaboard and not having to lug gear to and from a dock. :-)

Having said that, these days, money is always an issue. Have plenty of free air miles so airfare is free, it's the hotel that kills me! LOL

So choose the hotel with twin diesel engines, a compressor, coffee maker and crew that goes to your favorite dive sites while you sleep. :teeth:
