Hey gang...the Happy Hour will be FRIDAY starting at 6pm in Downtown Houston! We have chosen a place Julio found for us called El Jefe! Its very near the convention center (maybe even walking distance)...has a nice outside seating area and has a VIP lounge we can use since Julio is friends with the owner!

Our plan is to Hang Out, Drink, Meet & Greet, Get to Know One Another, then eat some dinner and for those that can or want to hang...we'll be dancing as well! We can dance at El Jefe's or walk across the street to several other clubs in the area.

So JJ...what is the actual address of El Jefe's and will you negotiate some drink and dinner specials for us with your friend!

The Sassy Rabbit, 'Chie, Julio and Mitch have all either helped or agreed to help to get this baby organized!

Now that we have the time and the place...we just need the full address, directions for those driving or coming from the Convention Center and of course letting people know we are having a rocking Happy Hour SD style!

Please spread the word to all your fun DEMA friends and singles types whether divers or not! (When non-divers see how much fun we are they usually want to get certified...just happened in Athens!)

here's some info about our bustling Tex-Mex eatery and happy hour hot spot at the Preston rail station downtown. if someone gets me the address for the convention center where DEMA's at, i'll mapquest the directions.

Taking up the corner lot formerly occupied by the Crazy Horse Cantina, Jefe Bar Mex Grill has updated the menu and enlivened the atmosphere. Such traditional fare as tacos, burritos and enchiladas is accented with a grilled steak, grilled shrimp and a sizzling fajita. The chips and salsa are served immediately, a good sign for any Tex-Mex spot. Even more, the margaritas are big and potent and the beer is served ice cold.

I WILL be there guys. I was there last Friday and I had a blast. The place reminds me of Coz' "Carlos & Charlies". At 6:00 p.m. the place should be calmed and relaxed to eat, talk, and drink. But after 10:00, get ready to party!
I had Fajitas for dinner and they were awesome. And the Margaritas are loaded. And there are dozens of clubs, bars, jaz cafes and the likes around this place so if you want to make your very own night, there is plenty to choose from. I will post more info as available. See you all there!

For those of you who will want more specifics, El Jefe is located at the corner of Main and Prairie. i actually walked right by it tonight on my way to MinuteMaid Park to see the Astros play the Cardinals.

'Chie and everyone, here is the Mapquest Link for directions from the George R. Brown Convention Center to El Jefe. It is about a 15-minute walk.

I just spoke with Pete Sanchez, friend of mine and general manager of El Jefe. We are still talking and planning the SD HHH (Houston Happy Hour) night but so far, this is what we have:

-Free Hordevoirs for everybody at no cost to us compliments of El Jefe!

-Beers and Margaritas at reduced prices just for us!

We are still talking about the VIP room. I will post anything else that develops but so far it looks like it is going to be a hell of a party!
