:wavey: As I'm sure most of you know today was Project Awareness for any water way,Lake etc. The group I was with was about 50.We managed to collect enough "garbage" ,just in the harbor area to fill up about a 3 yard dumper.Anything from a full bottle of Vodka, tires, fishing poles, wrenches, chains, tires, rugs, beer bottles & cans.America needs to wake up & start respecting the planet we have.
Sorry, didn't mean to get off there...Anyway it was a successful day of de-littering the harbor .How many of you had or participated in a Cleanup Awareness day????

Hmmm, I didn't know anything about this! But, I did manage to 'de-litter' my house & garage today.... :teeth:

I wonder why my local dive shop didn't organize something?

It's not just Project Awareness. it's the International Coastal Cleanup, which has been an annual event during the third weekend of September for approximately 25 years.

I did not hear or read a word about this "day" until after I missed it.

Too many "days" and we ignore them. I have participated in the clean-up day in April, the one in May, the one in June, and the one in August (I won't try to remember what they are called). Reading about a yet-another-clean-up-day just does not register in the brain.

I think it would be more effective to move all these days to the same day(s). It might be one day in the northern hemisphere and a different day in the southern hemisphere to accomodate the season.

Hey Alan! I just noticed your new Avatar, which is not a photo of you. The SD.com Terms of Service say that your personal profile picture can be anything you like, but the Avatar that shows up on the threads has to be a picture of you, either above or below water. Will you please take a moment to switch your Avatar with your Profile picture? :thankyou:

Alan,Yes that would seem to be more productive..
