Hey Kamala -

The Texas Dive Show is reportedly changing venue and moving to AUSTIN, at the Hilton near the Austin Airport. Dates will be February 24-25, 2012. You can get free tickets by registering online at www.texasdiveshow.com

Is SD going to do this one or should we be democratic (or republican) and take a vote? What do you think?

so far, they have all of 20 exhibitors listed on the website...hopefully, they will get more soon

When we do the show in Dallas we have a large group of awesome and vitally needed supporters who help to man the booth, help with setup and break down. I am not sure we'll have that same support if the venue is in Austin?

1. Do we have any Dallas Volunteers who don't mind going to Austin to help?
2. Do we have any members in Austin who would like to help?
3. Do we have any members in Houston who don't mind going to Austin to help?
4. Should we do the show this year or see if they bring it back to Dallas or Houston next year????

My vote is to leave this show alone, and hold out for either Dallas, Houston or a Texas coastal city like Galveston or Corpus Christi. While I was out-of-country for the last one, I understand that it was rather underwhelming based on comments made at the time--some due to the relatively unfinished nature of the venue in Las Colinas.

As Kamala points out, there is a ready base of committed SDers in Dallas and Houston area to draw attendance from. I'm not as certain of Austin.

I don't mind traveling to a show in Texas, but it will come down to how it falls on my schedule. Since this is Brad were talking about; I would wait until things are set in stone before making any plans
