Hey gang...Bill aka OTWDiver aka the wench's better half has asked that we not forget him this year and would we please run a trip to the Cooper River on his boat! We've been going to the Cooper for many years now with OTWDiver and its a really cool trip so it was hard to tell the man you love 'no'! ;)

So plan to do some uber cool MEG TEETH diving as well as looking for cool artifacts, prehistoric fossils and more! Here is the regular trip teaser info and we'll start a sign up for those interested in joining this trip Aug 23-28 for 4 full days of 4 dives a day diving! Price should be the same as last year $899 less early booking specials! You can drive or fly and its cheaper for drive in divers who don't need the extra night of hotel. :wakawaka:

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE FAMOUS COOPER RIVER:

Although the diving is amazing and many people become easily addicted to this diving...the tides are what allow for this trip to be successful...or not. The tides control the current flow in the river. Too much and you can't hold your position looking for teeth...you are merely swept along the bottom. Too little and the silt won't move creating a black out situation even with a high intensity light. Just right and you will get (4) nearly perfect one hour dives in a day! WOW!!!

The luxury of not operating weekly in Charleston means you don't have to run a charter every weekend regardless of the currents/tides. And since the tides are usually only conducive for a 3-4 day stretch several times a month (and not always on weekends) :( there is only one operator I know who ONLY runs charters when the tides/currents are conducive to primo diving conditions. :wakawaka:

ONCE AGAIN WE ARE DIVING THE COOPER RIVER Aug 23-28, 2012 with Aug 23 and 28 as travel days!!!

Once this is open don't wait too long...this trip will be limited to ONLY 6 DIVERS!!

We've done this trip a number of times and I love it! I've found HUGE meg teeth, Posted Image colonial artifacts including pipes, pottery and bottles. Posted Image Others have found the same or BETTER! Posted Image I even found a baby mastadon molar! My latest find was a spear point! :)

So is anyone up for doing an uber cool 'night dive' in the middle of the day in 30-40 ft in WARM 85 degree water?

Oh yeah...its relatively inexpensive too.... fly/drive to Charleston, SC and the trip is around $875-899 including hotel for 5 nights, breakfast and lunch daily, one dinner and 4 one hour tank dives DAILY...that's 16 dives!!! EVEN LESS IF YOU DON'T NEED 5 NIGHTS OF HOTEL IF DRIVING IN!!

Would have loved to dig around in the muck in the Cooper but it conflicts with a wreck diving trip in Hatteras that I've already booked. Maybe next year!
