Although I was dressing like Siouxsie Sioux as early as 1987, my first real contact with the Gothic/darkwave Community was when I was at MIT. Go Figure!

One of the things I loved about MIT was that no matter what you wore are looked like, you weren't the only one. I was not the only Hawaiian Punk Cowboy on the Campus.

What branch of the dark arts of physics do you practice?

Rats, all I have is the finite improbability device. I haven't figured out how improbable it is to make an infinite one. It's great for party tricks though.

No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

You can't quit the game
You can't win; you can only break even.
You can only break even at absolute zero.
You can't reach absolute zero.

For me it was lots of long black skirts and jumpers. I fit right in, not only on campus, but also with the darklings in the pit at Harvard Square.

What branch of the dark arts of physics do you practice?

Nuclear.
(We didn't challenge the rumours that it would produce mutants and make you undead)
