During August 2011, the retired 526-foot US Navy Destroyer U.S.S. Radford was sunk of the Delaware coast as an artificial reef. This is the first major vessel to be used in our northeastern waters for this purpose, an artificial reef. While it took a while to sink, she sank very quickly once she appeared to start sinking. Enjoy the video.

This is a nice wreck to dive. I've been on it a few times since they have sunk it. It is really getting covered with sea life and growth. It is currently in three sections not too far apart.
