Scooby-Doo and Sugar Cookies

So, between getting on-line, walking around a very, very small military terminal I'm regressing back to childhood and watching Scooby-Doo and eating sugar cookies. What a wonderful way to start a deployment. Those guys insurgents better surrender soon, 'cause there are a bunch of guys enroute their way who are hyped up on sweets with a head full of Scooby-Doo! That makes for a bad combination. On the plus side Scooby-Doo and gang have went hi-tech with everything from GPS to laptop computers; but Shaggy and Scooby are still stoned (somethings never change).
Oh, and to top off this little deployment the store here at the terminal in Germany sells alcohol, but they have a policy where you can't drink inside the terminal (and they won't let us out past security because were listed as damn "misc cargo!!"
Well if everything went smothly it wouldn't be the military....scary, huh.
I hope to see you guys real soon and get some dives in this summer. Brad and RichinNC, be carful out there.

Remember -- scooby would get the scooby snacks.. then catch the bad guy!!
I am sorry your flight isn't going well -- going to miss you as a dive buddy while you go trompsing around the world!!

More like you be careful out there! We want to see you back in the US when this is over. You aren't "Misc. Cargo" to us here.Hello gang... I headed east yesterday on a military bird and made it to Germany. When we landed the Air Force guys here looked at my group oddly...it seems we were listed as cargo, but our names were included, a military faux pais. So the guys deleted our names, listed us as "misc cargo" and manifested us back on our original aircraft. Then we were told we had a 4 hour layover, which was changed to 6 hours and now to eight hours. And to top it off, the aircraft is "Tango-Uniform" and won't be fixed for a while.

If you get a chance, take a peek at http://www.adventure...r.blogspot.com/ - I've been told that the info is pretty good. What do you think?

Some of back here in the States REALLY appreciate the "misc cargo" that is out there protecting our freedom and way of life. Travel safely. Godspeed. May the force be with you.

it was 1am when we hit that airport. everything was closed except the little shoppette and the burger king.
we didn't even get any cookies.
at least our layover was "only" 4 hours. then back on the plane to stretch out and pop ambien.
