I thought I would let the members here know of a new item..see link below..
After much awaited delivery and anticipation, for me. I got the new A300 from Aeris. The bright color screen is really nice.Menus are simple to follow & set. Brightness can be adjusted,to conserve battery life.Speaking of that,it takes the same battery,(cr2) as the transmitter.Which was my transmitter from the ET-3. This will now become my back up d/c. Also the nice thing was the transmitter was linked to the A300. No need for a new one. The compass is really sweet..They are coming out with a bungee cord option in lieu of the strap..
After some software issues,a few download's & phone calls, all was resolved. The support was there..Being a new item ,I thought they were very helpful..I look fwd to using my d/c soon on a upcomingPosted Image trip..Will report back how it was...

I bought one of these last summer, and had nothing but trouble with it. Here's my Amazon.ca report on it:

I had very high hopes for this computer, but after a 10 day trip aboard a Caribbean liveaboard, I came away very disappointed.

The transmitter failed after dive 1, so I wound up using my SPG for the rest of the trip. Replacing the transmitter battery didn't help, it was dead
The screen contrast was terrible in sunlight. I could hardly read the screen aboard the boat during surface intervals, and underwater, during daylight safety stops, the contrast was so bad I could barely read the numbers. Increasing the contrast only made the battery life worse, as I'll write below.
I went through 2 CR2 batteries on that computer for 10 days. It was very disappointing, after coming from an ancient Suunto Vytec computer that needed one battery replacement per year.
As an older diver, I found the alternate data screen underwater to be barely readable. Info like elapsed dive time, temperature, O2 saturation, were in text so small I could barely read it.

On the plus side, the display at night was very bright and readable. In daylight however, it was not.

All in all, I liked the idea of this computer, and it does have some good features, but I would not recommend it to anyone until Aeris works the bugs out.

Oh, and one last problem: the computer got activated on the plane down, while I was rooting through my carry-on in flight. Once on the ground, the computer showed I was at 8 feet depth! It had gone into dive mode DRY, and I had to pull the battery to reset it. I have never owned a computer that ever did this.

This is now an Oceanic computer, the VTX. Avoid this at all costs, in my opinion, at least until they work the bugs out.
