It's a dive that I'm glad I did once, but will never do again. It was $65 per dive, two dive minimum. It was kinda neat but not near worth the hype in my opinion.

So it's $130 (or more) for a trip to dive a hole in the ground? There have to be cheaper quarries nearby.

Gather up the Chicago members and bring them to Florida. We'd love to dive with y'all.

There's another topic on this that I posted a few months (4-6?) ago...

Got some helpful info, but looks like a "Check IT off the list" dive... meaning just do it one time to get it out of the way.... so you can say you've done it... wouldn't let the cost be your deciding factor, it's a one of a kind dive...

We have one here, WA, where we dive a Missle Silo (flooded and not in use.. Doh!!)... and some feel it's more hassel (including me) than it's worth, but it's a one of a kind type of dive... so it's still on the list...

The thought of getting Narc'd and hear a faint voice over the speakers calling out....

5...4...3...2...1.... Launch!!!!!

keeps rattling around my brain...

Just do it, and get on to the next one... a lot of people enjoyed the experience.
Doesn't mean you'll have to come back eh??

I moved your post to "Where in the World" the North America section as all our diving questions about destinations are located there. I also found another thread on Bonne Terre Mines for you to read as well. I agree with TF...let us know if we should plan an SD event there. How far is the drive from Chicago?

One of my Divemasters dove the mine and wrote a dive report with pictures that we placed on our Website. You can view it by clicking: Bonne Terre Mine Dive Site Review. She enjoyed the dives.
