FYI, we are here in Dominica, and the landing is WILD! Susan has requested if anyone on the trip doesn't mind getting video of the landing on the runway (ideally not sitting mid-plane like we were), that she would love to see the video. The landing takes you over mountains and through a valley to a short runway...then you get a nearly 90-minute rollercoaster ride of a bus to the hotel. :) Enjoy the ride and see you soon!

The bus ride was more interesting before they paved the road.  It's downright boring now ;)  You do get to see the whole island for free though.

For those interested, the weather is looking great for the two weeks.  Rain on Sunday and maybe Monday but clear Caribbean goodness after.

*** A couple of hints (and reminders) as people are starting to arrive.... Be sure to use the bathroom at the airport before you get on the bus since the ride is about 1 hour and 20 minutes, and it's bumpy and windy. Anyone who may get car sick, this ride will test your limits. Take Dramamine.

Speaking of medication, in addition to my earlier request for Ibuprofen and Benadryl, can someone please bring regular aspirin for Kamala? Thank you SO much....

I have a small bottle of regular aspirin already packed for me.  Its all I use for typical stuff.  I can get another bottle.

Did the road get washed out?

Thanks. The roads are passable...just a couple of rough areas where they needed to slow down to get over the areas. We had a much bigger bus than usual...apparently the biggest one on the island. :)

HI Everyone....

I miss you guys and my fishies already!  Wanted to pass some info along for those of you get the itchies....especially those who end up with little blisters and scars from bug bites....There is an over-the-counter itchy spray that works wonders.  It is called tecnu Rash Relief from tec labs.  You can usually find it at a CVS or Walgreen's in the bite cream section.

It is a homeopathic medicated anti-itch spray - labels says "stops itching and pain, dries oozing and promotes healing.  It also has some scarring prevention.

I've used it on bites, poison ivy rashes and scrapes I get while diving (I don't know why, I am the picture of grace underwater, lol)!

Lori (diver diva), I'm thinking this might be really helpful to you....and Shelly too.

It's about $13 for a 6 oz bottle, and totally worth it.  Of course, I forgot mine..but never again!
