Actually I have two templates - one for experienced and the other for inexperienced new members. The experienced diver template is here. The Inexperienced diver template follows in the next post and includes a pitch for the Rent a Buddy/Mentor Program, also any upcoming trip recommendations should include consideration whether the new member is ready (i.e. Best of Florida, NC are both Advanced trips).
Selection is subjective but usually new divers are obvious by lack of Nitrox, less than 25 dives, etc. BUT again it is a judgement call based on the entirety of a new member profile including free form fields that may offer clues like having AOW and 200+ dives but under Why you joined us they may include "returning to diving after long hiatus, need to refresh skills"....

As a new member we also invite you to introduce yourself to our membership with an icebreaker Forums topic. To do this:
- From our Home Page navigate tabs "FORUMS" -> "GO TO THE SURFACE INTERVAL FORUMS". (No need to log in here; the sites are separate, and referenced by links.)
- When the Forums Index Page opens, log in using the "Sign In" button in the top right corner with the same Member Name and password you created when you registered.
- Near the top of the list of Forums you will see "Welcome! Please read first!" and just below that, "If you're NEW, CLICK HERE and introduce yourself!" Click the "HERE" link.
- When the "New or Returning" Forum appears, in the upper right area you will see a black button with white letters "Start New Topic". Click that, type in a brief topic title e.g. "<<First_Name from State in Profile>>" and then in the Edit window add in a bit about yourself, what interests you most about diving, etc.
- When done click the "Post New Topic" button and Presto, you've introduced yourself to our group!
One last thing: Just to be clear, we are not a dating site; it truly is all about the diving with us. With that said, we also do not discourage consenting adults from pursuing whatever may move their mood while enjoying evening social hours. Kamala attends EVERY dive trip and is vigilant in ensuring a relaxed, congenial atmosphere with managed expectations on both sides of the gender divide. It's a model that everyone seems to enjoy and appreciate, you can find out for yourself by joining a trip and having a great time!
