Actually I PM/Email all members who have only posted an introduction on the site about 3 months after their join date. A couple of people have come back to the site and posted a couple of times, but then they seem to disappear. And you guys wonder what the do behind the scenes.

I'm with ya, DBD (aka Charlie!)...and Neptuner is right, the data HAS to be available to run some simple stats on...that would be a hell of a lot easier than going through one by one!

Hey WW, I realize that the construct of the "board" itself may not facilitate any extensive data queries, but this data has to be stored somewhere, right? Isn't it in SQL tables or some other kind of database? There are so many indexes and cross reference tables required to keep a board like this operational, it would seem painstakingly easy to take a quick look at that data in some raw format. Granted, I know nothing of the internal design of your software system, but in virtually any kind of data table what you are requesting (a simple cross reference of a member table with a record count of the associated post records) should be little more than a few minutes time spent on a customized query. Just a thought.

Hey thanks Tune Man...we are looking for people with programming skills...especially PHP to help us right now. Poor Birdman is just overloaded with stuff. I think he could find some room under those big wings for some other eagles to help out! Let us know if you have said skills as we could use the help!

In the meantime...Nextariel is right...its very easy to find the information using our members sort features where you can sort by alphabet, sort by join date, etc. I'm sure DBD will figure out the easiest way to do it and we'll go from there! -ww

Well, if I can offer another .02, I think we need to concentrate efforts on slow posters/no posters that joined within the past 3-4 months...as a first pass anyway. We are more likely to get them to become more active because it's still semi-fresh.

After we run through those, we could go back another 3-4 months...but that group might need a little more prompting...maybe even a quick survey/questionaire to see what it would take to get them to be active members.

Awesome!!! Charlie has wisked the new angels away to the secret bat cave and oh wait...the secret bat cave is not the right place is it? Well he has called in and the Angels are off another secret mission called operation 'Reach Out' where we'll be reaching out to members to find out why they don't post..and more importantly to invite them to join in actively in our community!
