Weather changes, often quickly. I met a group at Ginnie (Raven you were there) about a year and a half ago when a tropical storm was coming through. Most folks back out. Those of us who went had a grand time with excellent weather. Enjoy your weekend of diving, but please do stay out of the water if lightning is in the area.

dang, i was thinking about driving down to do the dives with y'all.

but don't wanna drive 8 hours to not dive due to lightning :-(
OK, lets make a deal. If you stop telling me how to dive, I'll stop going down to the bus station at 2am to slap d***s out of your mouth.

Thunderstorms are not forecasted. They were forecasted for the Tampa area, but not anymore. Anyway, I don't know that I'd want to drive that far for Ginnie Springs. But that's just me. I suppose if you were planning to dive the following day as well...

well, i'd prolly dive in the Devil's Ear again.

i'd do a dive in Ginnie Springs itself cause i haven't done that.

but looks like i'm gonna drive down to south Florida, so that i'll have more options as weather changes. and will prolly try to dive Sat, Sun, Mon.

This turned out to be a great dive! Thanks to SD for providing this useful forum. Sharon got rid of her cold just before the dive and now I have it. Doh!

Jeff (the "other" Jeff, not me), I hope you are feeling better. Jean, thanks again for your leadership skills. Sharon and I are novices, so your instruction is greatly appreciated. And, no, you weren't being bitchy! You're a sweety. William, sorry you couldn't make it. You missed a super dive, some good food and fun company.

AFAIK, no photos were taken this time - sorry folks. Next time, you'll just have to join us. :teeth: Looking forward to our next dive together.

Jeff

It was definitely a great time. What a beautiful spot! Jean, I can definitely see why you love to visit there so often. You were so very helpful in showing us the cool bits, thanks! Poking around The Ballroom was wonderful.

I only hope the cavern pair we saw while lunching got out of there alive. Man, I thought I was an inexperienced goof, but they were definitely fear-inducing. It must certainly be trying at times to be an instructor! When do you draw the line between who you will and won't teach? I remember people in my own dive class who could barely swim. Shudder!

Anyway, can't wait to go back and/or to hit some more springs until the Gulf warms up. I took my camera with me, but next time I promise to remember that I have it and actually snap some shots. DOH!

Jeff, hope you're feeling better (both of you!) and William, maybe we'll catch you next time.

Forgot to mention the cutest thing I've heard in a long while. When we were surfacing from the Ballroom, there was a family on the landing above the water with a pair of twin girls, maybe 2 or 3 years old. When our heads popped up, I heard one of them exclaim:

"Look, mommy, MERMAIDS!"
