Thanks to all for great input. Staff spots fall into several categories and so each category will be managed differently.
Here is how I envision it below. In the meantime if you plan to join us on a trip PLEASE post in the Trip Build Out Topic (WIP/OPEN/CLOSED) that you want a spot and which category it falls into. Thank you, Kamala
Trip NOT opened yet = We will use the GSL / STAFF SPOT LIST to track and need you to tell us via the TRIP BUILDOUT list what kind of spot you want.
Trip OPEN but you are not sure you can join but want to save a room while you work on logistics = post in the TRIP BUILDOUT topic the room type you want and we will adjust the inventory to show you as a staff spot.
Trip OPEN and you are definitely going but transferring money to facilitate = post in the TRIP BUILDOUT you are going and what type of spot you want. THEN... remove the spot from hika and announce you just signed up in the #4 topic and we will add your name to the Who's Going list just as if you had signed up. Then when you are ready to make it official put your spot back in and sign up. Usually the sooner people announce they are going and 'sign up' the better. Plus our team has fan followings so if people know you are going they are likely to join the trip because you are on it! And I can show urgency with diminishing spots SOONER.
