Mating season...

Mine breeds like I have rabbits. (Of course there is this corresponding decrease in the size of the wallet but that is another issue.)
I was checking today before my first dive outing of the season (this weekend) and by rights I should have a trailer to lug it all down there. Does anyone else notice this phenomena of dive gear reproduction!?

Hmmmm... scuba sex ... something definitely better in theory than in practice, although the whole neutral buoyancy thing's kinda cool.Well, I put 1 BC and 2 tanks in the back of my car and by the time I get to where I'm going I have 1 BC 2 tanks and a pair of regs...How'd that happen!! What where they doing back there???? I new term for scuba sex!
Or so I heard. From a friend. Who read about it in an article ... yeah, that's it.

My single's wing and doubles wing got together and hatched out a lift bag. The tanks have been getting it on too, because allof a sudden there's four new steel tanks, 2 manifolds, 2 set of bands, and a bunch of O2 friendly rebuild kits for the manifolds laying about...
The regs keep multiplying like rabbits.
Everyone seems to be having kids except for my wallet, which apparently had its tubes tied recently, to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

I think some mating's been going on around here too...

By all that is wet, I do hereby swear, (politely), and attest, upon pain of never diving again, (real or imagined), that I understand and affirm, that I agree to the above.

I've noted over the years that it seems to go into 3 phases...
Phase 1;
Buy all the gear that the dive shop says you need to get started.
Phase 2:
Buy all the dive gear that's in the dive shop. You look like a walking dive shop.
phase 3:
Buy all the gear that you WANT to make your dive enjoyable.. typically this means ALL new gear, but less of it...
it means going from a full Zeagler Ranger to a wing, from Alum 80s to Steel 90s or whatevers, to less Krap hanging on the d-rings. it means dropping the 14 dive lights, 3 whistles, 4 knives, tank lights, snorkle (how many still have it on?) goody bags, marker bouys, flags, slates, car tubes, pontoon boats... etc....
and finally the enevitable...
Phase 4:
You finally got what you want... untill, hey!! that's kinda kewl..
Where'd you git that??
(See Phase 1..)
