Welcome to SD's "Just For Fun" Contest of the Month! These will be either Holiday or Diving related so join in for all the fun! Some will be silly...some will be serious...but all will be something you won't want to miss!

April's Contest: :birthday:

Well April Fool's Day is around the corner...so dust off those tried and true April Fool's Pranks or create some new ones! But make sure you share them with us so we can ALL share in the fun! :birthday:

1. Post your best or worst or funniest April Fool's Prank entries in this thread!

2. Only entries in this thread will be judged for the contest. (Please do not start another one as they will be too hard to keep up with.)

3. Everyone is welcome to participate and we'll have prizes for the "best and the worst and the funniest" so everyone is qualified to play. We'll also have prizes for the most creative April Fool's Prank that best captures the essense of April Fool's Day! (Only April Fool's jokes and pranks will be judged in the contest.)

4. Bonus points will be given for getting a picture of your prank in action. Capture the 'surprize' value of the prank and you'll capture a prize! (Please no 'made for tv' type staged jokes. Pranks need to be real. Real fun that is!!!) :birthday:

5. No pranks that could physically or emotionally hurt someone...keep it FUN and PLAYFUL!

6. The winners will be announced April 25th so that you have a chance to get pictures developed and submit them for the contest and I have a chance to return from Saba to facilitate the judging. Remember...a picture is worth a thousand words...and bonus points in this contest! :birthday:

So what are you waiting for....start scheming and planning and start entering!!

WARNING...do not read this thread while drinking fluids or eating food. Contents will cause aforementioned objects to projectile thru the nose due to uncontrolable laughter!

Good luck! :birthday:

If you mean can you participate yes? Does it mean you are going to try and play an April Fool's joke on the wench? Then NO. Well if you do lets say it won't get you any brownie points! :)

When I was still working retail in the dive shop one of the local spearfisherman came in to talk about lights. Being april 1st I told him about the New UK 4000 flashlight that was just released. This flashlight was the most powerfull underwater flashlight ever built. It was powered by 40 D-cell batteries worn in a back mounted pack. The light head had a pistol grip 30 watt constant beam. What made it kick-butt was the trigger on the pistol grip that would fire the 4000 watt half second burst. This burst was so bright that it would temperarly blind fish for up to a min, so all the fisherman had to do was bag the fish. Of course all this is not cheep and the light was $1995 plus batteries.
I could see him doing the mental math of how many pounds of fish @ $3 per pound it would take to make it worthwhile. When he said he was going home to talk it over with his wife I started thinking I may lose a customer for a while if I told him it was only an April fools joke. Lucky for me the wife decided they could not afford it.

One of my favorite practical jokes from college was to take someones bar of soap and dry it out with a hair dryer. Then you paint the whole thing with clear fingernail polish and put it back.
Tip of the day- Never suck on a loaded gun!

A good friend and I had a "practical" joke war that went on for 6 years. Since April 1 was considered an amnesty day our joke war would end on March 31st and we would take each other to dinner on a joke free April fools day. Since they were anti-April Fools pranks, I don't know if they qualify, but I will share some highlights.

1: I spent 4 months and lots of time and $$$, every few days, replacing his gold fish with ones of the same size but a slightly different color, I had him convinced it was the colored flakes that he was feeding the fish.

2: He filled the cab of my pickup with beanbag stuffing (the small Styrofoam balls) In case you're wondering it takes 11 large beanbags. For months afterwords I would find little bits of Styrofoam in every nook and cranny. 3 months later they would still float to the surface when I took a bath.

3: I had an apartment on the 3 floor of this nice New Orleans house. I had a large balcony with 6 doors that would fold open completely. I cam home one morning and found my door hard to open. I had to pull on the handle while turning the key in the dead bolt. When the bolt finally turned, the door flew out of my hand, over the balcony and into a tree. The expression on my face had to have been priceless - standing there with my hand still grasping the air where my keys and door knob used to be. Dazed, I walked out on the balcony to see my door, in the tree, with a rope and weights tied to the knob. He had removed the hinges, tied a rope to the knob, ran the rope through the tree and put 50lbs of weight on it.

4: He drove a Mercury wit ha standard transmission and would always back into his space at night so he could just jump in and go at 6am the next morning. One night I wired his brake lights to his horn, took all of his insurance and registration information, and had a friend, who was a cop, block the exit to his apartment complex. He started the car, put it in gear and pulled up the the exit. The horn started blaring as soon as he hit the brakes. . . once he was in handcuffs and in the back seat, my friend let him in on the gag.

Those are some of the better ones that don't involve serious damage, although the bleach in his steam iron was hysterical . . :thankyou:

Perhaps if you bathed more than once every three months you could have "cleaned" this problem up sooner! :thankyou:

I'm 6'5" I shower daily, but it takes 3 months to build up the courage to try and fit in the tub again. :birthday:

<I am taking notes, so keep em comin'!>

Okay for me the best was I called my sister and my brothers to tell each of them that my husband's grandfather had given us 300,000 as a gift because he was having to liquidate some of his assets and needed to give away monitary gifts for tax purposes. They all beleived it (whic wasnt too hard as my EX's family comes from lots of money) anyhow, I told them each that we had decided to give each of them 30,000. IT WAS A RIOT to hear each of them go though the stages of disbelief and then once I had them convinced, they talked about what they would use it for.... of course, they didnt laugh much when I told them at the time. but they do now.

My other favorite was that I took my ex's car when we were married (this is his absolute life) and I drove it around the corner, so when he got up from work... IT WAS GONE LOL

Best non dive related

emptied a friends dorm room - laid turf on the floor + left a sheep inside ... don`t ask

Dive related

Left chocolate money on a wreck before breifing a group of newly certified students that gold coins had been found recently on the wreck they were about to dive
