A line from another post (yeah the one that had Nantucket in it), got me thinking about seeing how creative we can be. Let's write a limerick one line (and one poster) at a time. If you don't know how a limerick scans, please don't try this at home.

Cut and past the previous lines only to keep the most current working poem together.

I'll start:

I know a young bloke who's a diver

I don't think the post actually had Nantucket in it.

I know a young bloke who's a diver
I believe his name is MacGiver
No single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood.

OK, Walter, sometimes my (attempts at) humor work with with you and sometimes they don't. Not everyone can be taken as literally as you (and I mean that with all due respect). Maybe we can agree that while not actually present in the post, the word Nantucket was conspicuous in it's absence? In any case, it was sure there in my mind. :)

Proposed rule changes (and since I started this, they are now approved rules):
  • A person can only post one line per limerick.
  • The person completing a limerick starts the next one.

You limit yourself way too much...

There once was a man from....

I immediately thought of limericks as well, but there are lots of possibilities - Boston, Kent, Cabass.......Nantucket is merely one of the many we can't finish here. We'll have to get together for a limerick session some time.
