Note: This thread was split off so proper discussion can be had. This will NOT be an official SD event but we do have lots of SDer's that might want to get together and dive. If there is enough, I'm sure some of the bevy of Texas Beauties could be onhand to help organize some grub, diving, and fun! Have a great weekend...blowing bubbles in Florida....I am...-The Wench!

I'm up for Memorial Day weekend. I can make Saturday, at least for now, and probably can dive Friday, if anybody's going to be out there.Greg

I'm not sure if I can make it on Friday, but I planned on going up on Saturday and staying until sometime Monday..

I couldn't make it Friday, but could Saturday and Sunday. I'd probably go back on Sunday, but might be talked into staying over til Monday.

I want to go but do not know how to get there from where I am at need directions and time as to when everyone plans on being down so I could hook up with some sd 'ers I copuld probably come down on saterday or sunday stay for a few hours and then head back. do you have to brign your own tank and reg and weights or do they have a supply store? coming from i-45 south houston tx

Ladyfish - I'll need directions also. We could ride together, but I think I'll probably stay over night. I think there is a pretty good map on the Athens web site, if I remember correctly.
GFPriate - I would be leaving very early from Houston, and probably would not be able to get there much before noon.

It is pretty easy to get there. Just take I-45 to Corsicana, take the Hwy-31 exit. Stay on Hwy-31 to Athens, go through town past the town square. About six blocks past the square, you will come to Murchison street, turn left on Murchison and the park will be on the right about 1/2-mile up.

GF well since were both in the DFW area, I would say the best time to probably come out would be around noon. I'll probably get there about that time and will start setting up my tent...
