It began after the Civil War to honor the fallen soldiers, however I believe after victory in Europe some 60 years ago it generally honors all of those who have lost their lives in service to our country. Many generations of Americans have stepped up to the challenge of defending our freedom. They did not celebrate war, perhaps some didn't even grasp fully it’s origins, yet they bravely answered America's call. Many of whom finally made the ultimate sacrifice.
Today our nation is once again at war, and once again brave young men and women are called upon to protect on Nation's values. Please take a moment to remember our fallen Americans. I am sure they would be proud of the young people today who are answering the call. I know I am.

Ditto!!Hello everyone. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe Memorial Day weekend. But please take a moment from your backyard BBQs, scuba diving, etc., to recall the meaning and intent of Memorial Day.
