Absolutely NO reflection on Mishelle and her pursuit of AOW, but the assertion by several instructors here that AOW is a series of five fun dives and that no one really fails it really bothers me. A certification of AOW should actually mean something relative to competency underwater, not just adding a few more dives (often to a minimal set when the class begins).
This is not a criticisam of any of the instructors or of Mishelle's class. It is a reflection of the state of an industry that I think needs much more rigid standards. The only reason I got AOW was so I'd have a PADI c-card since many foreign dive ops do not know what LAC is.
With that said, hope you get that last dive in Mishelle. Look forward to a cyber celebration of your achievement!
