:cheerleader: Thanks, everyone! I'm very excited to finally join your ranks and be an "official" diver! Can't wait to meet more SD'ers in the future, especially if Walter and Marvel are any indication of the kind of great people here! :teeth: Hope to see you all underwater soon! :cool1:

Congartulations on getting sertified Bahamasita!!!!

It is amazing the power of these storms, uprighting a ship like that takes tremendous force.

The Speigel Grove is definitely a dive I have to do.

Bahamasita, I send along my congrats as well! :birthday:

As for the upright Speigel, who-hoo! I was fortunate enough to have dove the prop section when I was in Florida a while back. Looks like I need to make a return trip to see it sitting upright and compare the visual glory to that of the Cape Breton (formerly the largest artificial reef at 441' before the sinking of the Speigel) and the Saskatchewan (366') in Nanaimo, Canada (two fantastic wrecks I'm heading back to in September)!

They uprighted it??? When did that happen?? Man have I been on the road too long. I dont remember seeing zip in any dive mag about it.

Click here for a description of how Hurricane Dennis fixed the Spiegel Grove.

I dove this wreck in October of last year and I am chomping at that bit to get back down there.

Awesome! I can't wait to get back down to Islamorada! I always end up staying at Dunn's OV a little past because they ahve the best bar, fantastic food and reasonable prices! When I am able to get a move on down there I'll be sure to post in the Coming Your Way thread and hopefully will be able to meet some of you fellow Foridians and visitors.

Thanks for the great report, you made me jones to see this mamoth ship upright.

A gal at a bar recently told me I was acting weird...I told her,
" I bet you would act even more weird than me if you were 5 atmospheres higher than you prefer."
She didn't get it.
