It is amazing the power of these storms, uprighting a ship like that takes tremendous force.
The Speigel Grove is definitely a dive I have to do.

As for the upright Speigel, who-hoo! I was fortunate enough to have dove the prop section when I was in Florida a while back. Looks like I need to make a return trip to see it sitting upright and compare the visual glory to that of the Cape Breton (formerly the largest artificial reef at 441' before the sinking of the Speigel) and the Saskatchewan (366') in Nanaimo, Canada (two fantastic wrecks I'm heading back to in September)!
DIVE DIVE DIVE!!!

Click here for a description of how Hurricane Dennis fixed the Spiegel Grove. They uprighted it??? When did that happen?? Man have I been on the road too long. I dont remember seeing zip in any dive mag about it.
I dove this wreck in October of last year and I am chomping at that bit to get back down there.
