I guess that I am still waiting on album set-up. ZD may be out diving this weekend...?

I was amazed this past week when all 19 of our group made it to Utila with all of our bags. There were certainly problems with Atlantic Air, tho, and I'm considering using the ferry from LaCeiba next time. Might not be a good idea, but after Atlantic Air - it's tempting.

Most of us flew Continental to Roatan (RTB) with the some of us arriving on the earlier flight, some on the later at 3pm. In an attempt to ensure that we all had ample time to connect after clearing customs and immigration - perhaps with baggage claims? - a separate AtlAir plane to leave RTB 30 minutes later than the scheduled 4pm Saturday flight was chartered for 15 of us, and we also hoped this would assure that all 15 of us would see all of our bags loaded on our plane. INSTEAD, AtlAir just sent a larger plane in, and moved us up to that flight. It worked, but our business was not respected enough to deliver our plane as ordered and paid for in advance.

Most of left Utila by AtlAir for RTB, and for this we opted to simply book us on the scheduled 10am Saturday flight. This time, they sent the 20 seater, loaded most of us 14 and our bags along with 4 others, flew to RTB, then came back for the rest of us and our bags. At least on Utila you can see your bags come off or go on the plane, as you handle them yourselves. There was a large luggage cart with good wheels and full tires the first time to move the big bags away from the plane, but it was not available a week later on our departure.

Here are a few shots from the airport...

Getting to Utila is certainly part of the Adventure, but then - if I didn't want adventure travel, I guess I could have stayed home and watched TV. It worked out okay...

and as you guessed, ZD is out on the Flower Gardens this weekend, but I'm sure he will have a gallery set up for you asap

Congratulations arriving with all your bags! That's because you didn't fly TACA ("Take A Chance Airlines")!

Got a few hundred. Working on them now with Elements. Also did 14 minutes of underwater video for the first time. I'll have to load that on a site and email invitation to view it.

Yep, thats' TACA's biggest problem I think.

It was funny, had one big cart for 15 people - about 25 big bags and 25 little ones. When I started loading big bags on it, the lazy Americans started putting their roll-ons and backpacks on it. Grrr! I just pulled them off as fast as they put them on, and the idea sunk in. I kept my mouth shut, tg!!

Okay, got the 406 pics edited and ready. Will attempt to load in Gallery as soon as I get one. I've never done that. Hope I get instructions any moron can follow. :P

I do have them in an AOL album. If anyone would prefer to view the slide show there, send me an PM with your email address, and I'll send the invitation.

Haven't tried to load the videos on a sharing site yet. Anyone have any suggestions on sites...?? :lam:

Welllll, ZD set up my gallery okay, but it doesn't accept zips. I don't think I'll be loading 406 pics one at a time, so - if you want to view them on my AOL album, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send an invitation to view them. :twist:

Don,

This is a photo gallery that I wrote so you would have to load the photos that you want to show off. As for the videos, you will have to have them on a server somewhere and link to them. We are limited on file size so you can imagine the amount of space that it would take if everyone wanted to load photos and videos in the amounts that you are wanting to load. Just pick out your best/favorite ones, and load them up

Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, sir. I'm sure I don't understand what it may take or cost to allow the loading of zip files, but I'll accept that it's a bit much. Photobucket and I guess all other sites have limitations, some of which I cannot get to work.

I'll see about loading some as suggested, I have an AOL album if anyone wants to see it, and I might load on Snapfish with a link. Thanks for you help with the gallery....

Okay, until I can select and load a few in the gallery, here is a link to a Sanpfish album with all but a few I culled off. There is a slide show feature available...

Video now available...

Don't expect much from my first attempt, but I did get it spliced, loaded, uploaded, etc.

It's 14 minutes if you're interested. No download needed, as it streams:
