OMGosh no, if I'd seen one, I would have mentioned it, loaded proof, etc. We had one reported to us by radio, but never found it.So any whalesharks???? Or do I need to watch the video to see?
I thought I heard starting February? They saw a few as late as June. They are migratory fish, bu it's not like ducks flying south for the winter. Early arrivals and stragglers are possible.I don't know about Don's bunch, but we didn't see any--and spent several hours looking. The peak time is from middle of March to middle of April. Deep Blue actually schedules it as an research interaction event with whale shark researchers on the premises. I'm going back next March to try and see one!!!
The butterfly invasion was wild tho. Apparently a migrating specie, with thousands blown over from the mainland by the thunderstorms passing thru.
Winds blew so hard the last night that my bed on the third floor of a stilted building vibrated. Nothing to impress a California, but when I feel the earth move in bed, I want someone special there with me making it happen.

Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

A lot of them never migrate and just hang out in Utila. It's a mystery why some migrate and others don't (some people just don't like travel, I guess).
I hear the most reliable place to see whale sharks is Hol Box.

They just blew in with the winds one night and were with us the rest of the week, in the common room, bedroosm, prvies, all over town the rest of the island. We'd carefully capture or drive them out. These were the few who didn't perish at sea, and possibily had only a few days left, but you know how traveling divers hate to kill anything. Those butterflies look cool.
Do you think the sharks follow the tuna, or the tuna follow the sharks? We were always looking for their boils.
