Since recently obtaining my SSI DiveCon cert and a new Northern Diver CNX drysuit, I'm looking to get wet this fall up in the BC area. Any recommendations on where to start diving from you Canadians?

TIA,

Well Cliff,

Since I'm not certified yet, but will be by the end of the fall (:wavey:), and Michelle might still be in *drysuit school* for her took-forever-to-build-drysuit (:banghead:), I would suggest David Evans as being the most knowledgeable source for diving in BC. Frank (fbp) is probably another excellent source of info. Good luck!

My favorite place is http://www.abyssal.com/

They are off Campbell River, on Quadra Island. Most awesome diving I've ever done, and Earl and Deb are top-notch hosts and excellent cooks.

I can also highly recommend http://www.porpoisebaycharters.com/ - Kal and Ann do a great job.

I'm sure others will chime in as well... Port Hardy is quite lovely.

I'd also recommend that you check out http://www.bcdiveguide.com/

Hope this helps... I absolutely LOVE diving in BC. It's sooooo beautiful, and on top of all that, the SD gals from there seem pretty awesome. :wavey:

Hey, I will be there soon enough - now it is the bum ear but this seems to be healing quite nicely! I hope to be in the water soon!

Well, I have several colleagues in Vancouver who are world class freedivers whom I know I could contact and be up there in a heart beat.. ;-)

And if Sushi is in the mix, then it's all good!

And hurry up Annasea and get that cert so when I get up there, we all meet and go diving!!! There needs to be a PNW SD contingency ya know???

And right now - the Barefoot Red Zin is tasting mighty good at the moment..

Right you are, C. My bad.

What I meant to say was "I'm of the not-at-all-humble-opinion that the BC female representation from SD are the most exquisite, dazzling, breathtaking, thoughtful, intelligent examples of all that is sweet and wonderful in the female of the species".

You know I got much love for ya, C. :lmao:

Would it be presumptuous to say "Scuba Divas"?

Well, in Michelle's case ... no, but in my still-not-certified case ... yes! :-D

(I plan on taking my OW course at the beginning of September at Ocean Quest in North Van (thx, David!), assuming all goes well with my ability to complete the prerequisites. I'll IM you, Cliff, once I've completed it.)

Michelle,

For you I shall attempt to emerge from my normally introverted state-of-being and meet in person one day soon. Maybe coffee during lunch hour? :lmao:

David,

A simple, "Oops! Sorry! *Are* awesome!" would have sufficed!

Regardless ... :lmao:
