Grant! good to have another historian around! I had forgotten until I read your post but I visited that museum some time ago. Pretty interesting place to see. I remember the battle details well- I spent most of my school years in Virginia & consequently was exposed to more than my fair share of US history, primarily Virginian. For those of you back east or who happend to find yourself there for some reason, the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, VA has the recovered pieces from the Monitor. The prop just came out of restoration. The turret and the engine are currently being restored. Good museum if you like ships.

Thanks guys. It has been fun already. Of course, it is sad we are all home on a saturday. Guess that is why we are here.
Hey Doc, how did you hear about where I have shot?

By the way, most of you probably don't know Grant or his experience and reputation. Among the big dogs of diving here, he is one of the BIG big dogs!!! I met Grant for the first time when he gave a lecture at the Long Beach Aquarium and can tell you he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, not to mention an incredible wealth of information.

That is very nice to say. I prefer to believe that it is just being around a long time and trying to help diving grow here. Thanks. Been reminded lately to just say thank you to a compliment rather than going into a diatribe on how I should not be complimented. LOL
Glad to be a part of this group. I can tell it will be a lot of fun and I know I am already in trouble. LMAO
