Hi Grant- Welcome to SD from across the Channel. Would definitely be interested in talking shop if you get out this way to dive. You're involved with a much higher end product than I am (my market is regional cable networks rather than Discovery or National Geographic).

Good to have someone of your experience on board.

I guess I already sort of welcomed you to the board in an earlier thread, but since I'm here, :welcome: . So far you already seem like you'll be tremendous fun to be around, so don't be shy about jumping in.

Everything you've heard about the angels here is true, so watch out! :teeth:

For those of you back east or who happend to find yourself there for some reason, the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, VA has the recovered pieces from the Monitor. The prop just came out of restoration. The turret and the engine are currently being restored. Good museum if you like ships.

:welcome: Grant! good to have another historian around! I had forgotten until I read your post but I visited that museum some time ago. Pretty interesting place to see. I remember the battle details well- I spent most of my school years in Virginia & consequently was exposed to more than my fair share of US history, primarily Virginian. :teeth:

Grant!!!!! Hey, it's great to see you here!!

By the way, most of you probably don't know Grant or his experience and reputation. Among the big dogs of diving here, he is one of the BIG big dogs!!! I met Grant for the first time when he gave a lecture at the Long Beach Aquarium and can tell you he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, not to mention an incredible wealth of information.

Ah shuckes,

That is very nice to say. I prefer to believe that it is just being around a long time and trying to help diving grow here. Thanks. Been reminded lately to just say thank you to a compliment rather than going into a diatribe on how I should not be complimented. LOL

Glad to be a part of this group. I can tell it will be a lot of fun and I know I am already in trouble. LMAO

:clapping: BigBluePlanet...glad you stopped by and hope that you will call this home. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here that are ready and willing to help in anyway, all you have to is ask.

Don't forget to take a look at our website at SingleDivers.com. We are constantly upgrading and would love to see you on one of our upcoming trips.

Again, welcome to our little place on the net where having fun is what it is all about.
