While some of you may not believe Caetllonn and me when we talk about how wonderful Vancouver, is, seems that the world has taken notice as well:

Any study that ranked Cleveland and Pittsburgh as the best cities to live in in the U.S. is, er, let's just say.... open to question.
There are old divers and there are bold divers, but there ain't no old, bold divers.

Actually I don't have a problem with that statement. I've spent a lot of time in Vancouver over the years and really like it, despite the cloudy climate. I still have a cousin living in north Vancouver, and if I hadn't had personal reasons to turn it down I would have taken a job there many years ago, and become a Canadian. Now, as a Brit I'm not even eligible to live there - I was offered a provincial government job more recently and Ottawa refused to ratify it because I wasn't either Canadian or from a "preferred" country.

I can go along with Calgary as well. Great city to live in, though I've only visited. You can keep Toronto though.

Peter, I find it odd that you have found that as a Brit you are not "eligible" to live here since Canada is a commonwealth country. I know a lot of British people who have moved here. In fact, half of my family background is from England. Do you recall the specific explanation?

Michelle - I've sent you a pm. The whole story is too convoluted to inflict on people here.

Yes! :thankyou:

What you need to do is hit the quote button first. The replying screen pops up next. The quote will appear underneath in a separate white box that allows you to edit the quote if needed.

Above is the reply box where you type in your response.

You can click Preview Post and you'll see how your response appears in conjuction to the bit you quoted.
