When I'm online and I receive PM's I read them, then an hour later, I'll recieive an email that I have a PM??? What gives??? Doesn't it know I already read them.....so right now I'm getting like 4 email for PM's already read, should get another 5 I guess!! Cause those are read too.... Help!

The e-mail goes out automatically as soon as the PM is sent. This involves e-mail routing that takes place after it's left the Single Divers system. My e-mails usually arrive seconds behind the PM, but from time to time they'll come in several minutes later.
No single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood.

You can turn that function off in your control panel:
Go to My Controls -> Board Settings -> and then under the Board Preferences, the middle check box:
Send a confirmation email when I receive a new private message
Enabling this option will send an email confirmation of any new private messages sent to you.
Uncheck it....this means you will NOT be getting an email when you receive a new PM.

OK, here's how it goes... If I'm NOT on sd.com when I get a PM, I get an email right away..... If I AM on sd.com and get a pm and read it.....email doesn't come for over an hour!! I was still receiving emails this morning from pm's from last night.

I haven't noticed any issues. I ran a test, with and without the email notification enabled, and it seems to work fine for me. Instant email notification when enabled, no email when disabled.

I have noticed tho that the email notification's are coming into my bulk mail and they use to come to my inbox. and i havnt changed any settings.

yeah...i've received some notifications in inbox & some bulk mail. it's not double notification of the same message though.
