I wasn't sure where to post this so hopefully it's ok here.

Hopefully this isn't a silly question.

Do you think wetsuit alterations are worth it, or are they so costly it would be more economical to purchase a new one? example, I need a couple of inches taken, in the entire arm area, and the neck doesn't seal like it used to. I have gaps however, I don't have to do the heave ho shimmy or worm (as I call it) when pulling the thing on anymore.. lol

I've never had a suit altered. Have you priced both options?

There's no such thing as a silly question here WG But i have never heard of resizing a suit either. I know you can buy a new suit at www.scubatoys.com for 99 bucks and its a 6.5 mil farmer john. But i am curious if you find a place to resize and how much it would cost. Happy Bubble's WG

Whew.. thanks B2b.. ;)

$99 for a 6.5 wow.. that's a good price. I think that's probably the better route to take. Or maybe find a 1 or 2 mil to wear underneath I guess. Thanks for the site info.. I'll check it out.

A lady here in town said approximately $100 or more. She hasn't done a wetsuit before but looking at the suit she thought it may take some work just to reduce. I checked a few sites and showed reduction starting at $100.

I enquired about getting a suit adjusted up here and they said they change CDN$20/seam they have to open up. The way my suit was built, that meant about 10 seams to be opened!! Kind of steep if you ask me!!

But you had worked it into a fine art! :fish2: Especially when it was a bit bouncy on the boat.

One thing you may want to consider is a custom fit suit the next time you get one. I will ask at the shop here local I am pretty sure I heard someone asking about repairs not to long ago perhaps I can get you some info that could be useful.

But I am gonna miss the :fish2: at gear up time!

:o

You'll have to come diving with me some time. I have to do "the wetsuit wiggle" to get into mine!

I would be happy to dive with ya sometime. I love to dive anywhere deep, shallow, inbetween, cold, warm, bout anywhere you want. I must say I do prefer warm but would rather dive cold than not dive :o
