I just saw in a dive magazine a new "dive bar" - made with pineapple enzymes and also contains ginger to settle the tummy (KNOWN PUKER) - I am always looking for something to take on dive trips as I am type I diabetic - and for those of you who have been on a dive trip with me know I am always looking for something to keep my sugar up!

Just wondering if anyone had tried this new bar - and better yet - how it tastes!

I'm still waiting for that US Navy experimental pill Lloyde Bridges used on Sea Hunt that prevented the bends.

I have read that technical divers take a "gel" food with them on deep dives and use it whenever they need to...I know that anyone who rides bicycles for long distances use an energy bar, gel, drink or whatever their body can tolerate

so this "gel" I've read about exists, but I don't know about the pressure issues when you carry something like that with you to 100'

I've also read about a tube you can fill with "gel" and consume during a dive...I'll look for more info and post it here

I'm betting it was made of Balsa, just like his "don over the back with a deft drop" dubs...

Kim, any liquid or gel is fine at depth since they can't compress but I can't picture opening one of those foil gel packs with 5 mil gloves on. On the bike I buy bulk gel and keep it in what's basicly a small water bottle but that would be hard to draw out of under presure, Platapus makes a folding water bottle that I have used on dives.
