Well......Y'all sure are a friendly lot!
Thanks for the welcome. I dont want to appear rude so forgive me if it is a while before I reply to somones post. In response to the above-
Yes I consider myself lucky to have the great diveing here on Guam and even luckier that I can visit the Islands around here on buisness and dive while I am there.
Diveing in Guam is like diveing in a warm bath with lots of colorful fish. Usually around 82 to 84 degrees year around. I just checked my watch and only found two dives of the last 30 that were as low as 79F. Both of those were DEEP. We generaly have 80+ feet of vis. Aslthough the harbor gets down to 30' on bad days. Yesterday I did a deep scooter run from "the crevice" past "the blue hole" and back to the blue hole. (Alicat will remember those two sites) The Vis was well over 100' I could see the bottom while standing in the boat in 130'. Along the way I saw a lot of fish and fan corals. Of note were some large trevaly's and a large school of jack's On the way down I found an eel at around 140' I came up thru the blue hole and did my deco there. On deco I had a few large snappers and some rainbow runners checking me out. Run time for the dive was 74 min on the computer which was 1 min over tables. I stayed for an extra 5 min @ 12' Since I had the gas and the time.
I hope this breif description helps in the "whats the diveing like" dept. I dont mind answering any questions about me or Guam but the more specific the better. If any of you would like advise on Guam or Tech diveing feal free to ask. I do NOT want to get into any online pissing wars over tech dive theory. I know what I do works otherwise I would be dead or crippled by now. I seem to be rambling. Maybe it is becuase I am slightly sloshed and it is 1am. Got to go.
Cheers Jim
