So sorry to hear of your loss. I know that the friends I made in school when I was young (a few high school, but several in college and grad school) have been the ones that have always been the most special to me. There is just something about that time in your life and the general climate of intellectual stimulation that makes those friendships especially rewarding. My sincerest sympathy to you and your friends. Thanks, Tina. Unfortunately the joy didn't last long. Cindy left a message last night that we lost him on the way to the operating room.

Thanks, Tina. Unfortunately the joy didn't last long. Cindy left a message last night that we lost him on the way to the operating room.
I will be flying back to Washington DC to give one of the eulogies at the funeral next week. I wonder if Al Gore will deliver one as a classmate of his in private school and ours at Harvard.
My sincere condolences.
My prayers for "the peace that passes all understanding" go out to you all, especially to Cindy. This turn shows us how little control doctors have over us...
As for second part... be sure to take your "no-doz" just in case!
Actually, the WORST day of diving is better than the BEST day at work...
and... my life is not measured by the number of breaths I take, but by the number of breaths I take UNDER WATER

Fortunately this weekend is a busy one between the storms, a former student visiting with his young family and nearly 30 divers from another board out for their monthly dive. Plenty to keep me occupied.
I have yet to hear when the funeral will be. As soon as I do, I'll have to make reservations to get there. I just hope I can get a decent fare. Gulp. Sometimes I wish I were an investment banker instead of a starving marine biologist (what am I saying???).
