If there was an HH within 3 hours of me, I'd consider it. That hasn't happened yet. They look like a good time.

May Ft Lauderdale Happy Hour 5-26-06, Come and join the SD Memorial Day Trip Crowd!
I don't fly in until the 27th, so I'll be missing out. I think anyone who can should go though. It will be an opportunity to meet ScubaDadMiami and WreckWench!

no kidding you can drive 18 hours East/ West and still be in texas and about 12 hours north/south without going in to oklahoma or hitting the gulf or mexico.
interesting thing is that it takes me less time to get to my grandmother in st petersberg florida then to get to west texas.

Sounds like the same advice from 6gill. I think I'll try that this weekend instead and let you all know how it goes!!How about just making a small loop and holding it with your thumb on your left hand. No entaglement that way.

Cripes! How big is Florida!
Florida, because it is a peninsula, is not as big land-mass wise as texas, however were it an inland state with the same width and height as it has now, would probably rank right behind Texas in size. Consider it is about 11 hours from Pensacola to Miami, and another 4 or so to Key West from what I understand. Also consider that once you leave the northern part of the state, there are only 3 major roads going east-west in the state. The Turnpike, I4 and Aligator Alley. I4 and the Turnpike cross each other near Orlando. Aligator Alley is at Miami. Between them, is nothnig other than Rt80 from Cape Coral to West palm. It's desolate out there!
However, I have driven all the way across Texas. And Going from tip to tip in Florida is just a tiny bit shorter.
