Hey Cliff AKA CCWF (you asked for it!)! Welcome aboard! :cool2:

Sounds like you may be the most experienced free diver on our growing site so far, so you can be the resident expert. Do you do much scuba diving, too, or is freediving your first/only aquatic love now? How deep have you gone? How long have you been freediving? How the heck do you keep warm? I don't know a whole lot about it, but I've always found the idea fascinating -- going way down with nothing but a lungfull of air to keep you til you come back up... :-D

coppermaus - how deep? - 100 feet on a single breath under my own power (no weights to help me down - it felt so effortless)

Keep warm - gotta love freedive wetsuits with no zips to allow water to seap in

I do tank dive - but not much anymore - want to do more though for doing u/w video work though

There isn't anything like freediving - have to experience it to understand...

Howdy from the "Wench"! Gotta watch those Diving Divas aka "Angels" as they will tag, and bag you everytime!!!

Welcome to our site...I can see you are jumping in and enjoying yourself! I've had many other diving professionals say that love our site cuz they can let their hair down and be themselves vs. the professional they have to be everywhere else.

We'd like to encourage that as we all lead dual lives....one we call the 'paycheck' life and one we call the 'real' life. This site is for the latter....so let your hair down so to speak...let your gear hang....whoops...you don't have any long hose do you? And 'hold your breath' as we see where the fun ride/dive takes us too!!

Ok so that was lame...but then I can barely breathe let alone hold it for any purpose!!! LOL!!!

So we hope to see you on some dive trips soon...that is what we do here....bring single divers together to form friends and buddies for future dive trips, regional events and social events! Check out the calendar or the two sections on the board under Of Interest to Singles entitled SingleDiver.com Trips and Events and Functions.

We are still small....400+ members in just 3 short months but we have been doubling in size every month since our inception so its getting REALLY fun. I think Coppermaus is right and you are our first freediver so perhaps I'll pick your brain for some fun ideas we can do together....ok gang....get your mind OUTTA the gutter....I was referring to SD and the freediving thang!!!! LOL!!! :teeth:

So keep jumping in....and I hope to see you soon on an upcoming trip. So something you might consider...we have a DM that dives with me in NC that hooks an anchor on a wreck in 80-120ft of water while breathholding. Perhaps you'd like to dive on history'briefly' as well??? LOL!!!

Hey Cliff, welcome aboard. I do a fair amount of freediving myself centered around abalone and spearfishing. I find that you stay warmer freediving than tank diving especially with a skin in (Picasso) wet suit. Seems like you burn more calories. You do much in the way of spearfishing? We're just about to enter halibut season in northern california. Jack
