Have a great time I'm heading to Fiji on thursday Aug 31. A week on the Fiji Aggressor. I want to hear about Timor I've dived Komodo, Bali and Wakatobi and love Indonesia diving. I'm not sure what you mean about an entrance tax though. When you get to Indonesia you get a 30 day visa for $25 US. I never payed any entrance tax. Since Timor is still part of Indonesia your visa should still be good upon return to Bali. Are you staying longer then 30 days? Make sure you have at least one blank page in your passport that are not the last few pages(the ones for Amendments and Endorsements). They use a whole page for the visa and won't put it on the last few pages and the page has to be blank. A friend of mine got screwed cause of this.

Thanks for the info. East-Timor is not part of Indonesia. They gained there independence in 2000. From what I am reading I pay an entrance fee into Bali. Then another in Timor. Now that I lose a dive day due to the new flight schedule, I have to spend another day and a half in Bali before I head to Singapore. Thus another entrance fee into Bali.....I'll check to see if a 30 day one will work.

Have a great time in Fiji.....I'll look forward to your trip report. Fiji is on my list and looking at the Beqa area for the Sharks..... looks interesting....I just do not like Shark feeding areas...but I hear there is some great diving in the area for big stuff.
Are you doing the Aggressor?

Random sniper's bullets, anti-personnel mines, or mobs, have no concern over who they kill. They just require the individual to be in proximity to the kill zone.
Why travel that far to dive, where it isn't even safe to walk?
If you crave that much danger, come to Dallas, and I'll put you on the LBJ freeway during rush hour.

The State Department has indicated travelers are still in serious danger in that area.

Ahhhh...where do you read this stuff?...anti personnel mines...random sniper bullets???...LOL..I do not think they are that sophisticated....It is Not Iraq!...Maybe gangs...But the Aussies are right there...to stop it. Plus it is more in the Downtown area away from the shore where I am staying.....Three months ago it was a concern now it is pretty safe. I have talked to a person who works for the State department and he has brought his family back last month....I feel safe! I am ready for some of the most remote and Pristine Diving anywhere in the world
Now the LBJ fwy???.....you do not think Socal....can one up Dallas on fwys????...I wish you guys could....LOL
