Hurricane Wilma: Share same sentiments, after having visited in January for the first time. But the bare trees, snowball reefs, and topside reconstruction have not deterred me from going back to visit there again!

Yes, people's opinions seem to vary between "it's totally trashed" and "it's totally fine." I can't figure it out. Definitely the walls appeared in better shape than the shallow horizontal reefs for obvious reasons.

Great report! I've seen a few of those on my dives there as well.

That was a great report... It just goes to show that not everyone in the world takes diving seriously. I was in guam last month with a whole lot of japanese tourists. They were so overweighted that they sunk to the reef like a rock and never moved through the whole dive. One lady didnt realize she was on the edge of a wall until she dropped 100 ft where the divemaster swam down to catch her. Without him, she would have been history.

Sorry you had to do this trip on your own. It would have been so much fun to share laughs as it was occuring. But thanks for the laughs, of what unfortunately is true of some divers. :teeth:

VERY funny report!!! :birthday: Thank you for sharing!

I was in Cozumel in Feb 2005 and again in Apr 2006. I could see the difference but there were still plenty of beautiful things to see. Thankfully, I have not had the "goof-ball" divers on any of my dives (with the exception of one).
