What a wonderful expression of love to take care of your mom when the going got rough. She must have been one heck of a woman to raise such a thoughtful, caring man. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

I extend my most heartfelt sympathies to you not as a fellow SD'er, but as a friend! Though I may reside far South of the metroplex, if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask!!

For all those who asked about PlatyMom whenever they saw me, I thank you.
She met some SDers who came to the house prior to her decline, and was impressed with the caliber of people I am fortunate to associate with from the site.
It is my sad final duty as her son to tell you all that she died a few hours ago here at home as she wanted to.
I was there at the end, and can assure everyone that she did not suffer, but simply stopped from one moment to the next as the illness she battled for the past year finally won the war. She was 79 years old.

So sorry for your loss John! There a lot of us who wish we could have met her.
It was good that she was able to spend the end of her life at home like she wanted. And that she had such a wonderful son like you to look after her.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
