Haven't seen many locations:UTAH in the posts. Maybe we need to rally together and meet! Any interest from anyone for a HH in UTAH?

WW knows me well! I'd love to gather for a UT happy hour, I am sure we'd have a blast. It would be great to get to know some SD'ers close to home.

I would love a HH for Utah. It's always great to meet local divers.

Sounds like we have at least 3 for a Happy Hour...the DC area Happy Hours started with 2 people and have grown to almost 25 on a regular basis!

We are very close to launching our new newsletter and we can do an all call for Utah folks in it! That will help too! :cheerleader:

I knew this sounded like a fun group! Didn't take long to find a couple of fellow partiers! I like to go away on weekends, so a mid-week HH could work better. I've always been told, when it comes to parties, weekends are for amatuers? Since there's only 3 of us so far, what works for you 2? I'm down in Sandy, but can go downtown if that works better for you 2. Where are you located? - Evan

Do either of you go to a dive shop here? Is there anywhere you would think to hang a poster if we wanted to attract others? I know there's a dive shop on Fort Union, but I've only been there once. We could also delay till WW announces our first ever Utah HH in the newsletter. But I think we'd need a firm date first.

Well, my only problem is that I travel for work and so most of the time I'm only in UT from Fri-Sun. I will have a week off in October, but I don't know when it will be until just a couple of weeks before hand. If weekends don't work, maybe would could plan something for then, I just worry that without some good lead time on it we might have a hard time getting others involved. I think it would be a great idea to get it in the newsletter.

I'm the president of the Desert Scuba Scorpions dive club -- shop is in Orem and I'm constantly spreading the word about single divers with everyone I meet from there. I could definately put up a sign there and if you wouldn't mind maybe you could ask at the one in Ft Union (I've never been there). I'll actually be maning a booth for Desert Scuba at the Women's Expo at UVSC this Saturday, if we could tie down a date before then I could see if I can get any other gals interested.

If we really need to pick a date and if it really needs to be a weekend, why don't we stick with what you originally suggested, 9/28. That way you can try to recruit at the Desert Scuba booth at the expo and whatever other leads you have. I'll gladly follow your lead if you want to pick a time and it sounds like somewhere in the South Valley could work well if you live in Orem (but you didn't really say that). I'm new to this board, so don't know if I should post my phone number here, but you can definitely contact me through the number on my web site if you want to discuss this further. http://www.altacondo.net

That sounds like a grand plan! I'll give you a ring in the next day or so and we can work out the details so that we can post it. I recently moved to Lehi fom SL, I just really like everyone in the Orem shop so I've just always traveled from SL down there we've actually got a few people that do that. I think it would be great if we choose somewhere Sandyish area, south end of the SL valley so we can get people from both counties.

:usflag: Hi breaker69a! Welcome to SingleDivers.com. Please take a moment to post an intro in the "Lets Get Started" section! :usflag: Post Intro Here

P.S. No offense, but I have a dog that looks just like you!!

SD Avatar Policy:

Avatar: Avatars are representations of ourselves. An avatar is fun to have by your name in your posts. Usually they are cartoons or drawings but we have chosen to use miniature photos of ourselves. When we use photos of ourselves as avatars, it lets us get to know each other better. It is easier to remember faces than names, especially screen names. Since our purpose is to get to know each other and to dive together, our avatar policy promotes this. Please note that the picture you upload or have us help you to upload MUST be of you, preferably including your head/face. It can be a diving picture or a 'dry' shot, whichever you prefer. At this time rotating avatars are reserved for SD Staff only and therefore not permitted. See "My Controls" for how to upload your avatar.

Note: If you need help uploading or resizing a picture for your avatar, SD.com will help you do that. You send the pictures to us and we will send them back resized or cropped to highlight YOU! There is no charge for this service and is provided free of charge by some of our members.

That is great news! Welcome to Single Divers! So now we are 4. We have planned to the happy hour for 9/28 -- if it is okay with everyone we'd like to meet at the Oyster Bar at Market Street at 106th south. It is just off the freeway near the south towne mall and we'll plan to meet at 7:30 pm.

I think we're actually at 5 people now and the Oyster Bar is actually just a little west of I-15 on the other side of the highway as the southtowne mall. http://www.gastronom...yster/find.html or get exact directions with google maps http://maps.google.c...&...wloc=A&om=1]Looking forward to meeting you all there. The Oyster bar side is a private club, but I'm a member and I'll sponsor any and all who show up. - Evan
