It's Official!!! Just reserved space for Motown Cheesehead on Blackbeard's for THANKSGIVING!!! and we'll open it up to any other Interested SD members! Just let us know and we'll book you as well. Price is $879 for the week or $1079 for the 9 day trip!

I just can't do any of the SD trips this year...but I'm thinking of doing Blackbeard for a week long trip at the end of November (departing the Saturday after Thanksgiving). Anyone interested? I did BB last summer and had a blast - but my typical diving buddies just can't swing it this year. I know there is mixed reviews on the site here for BB trips - but I enjoyed it enough to want to go back.

So Mowtown Cheeshead has convinced me that we need another trip in the Turkey Day range...one that is lower cost than our Sea of Cortez, Soccorro Island and the Mexican Galapagos! So Len is going to start the fun off by booking for Nov 25th until Dec 1st...anyone want to join him???

Just booked my flight! Yippee!! Now if I can just explain to my parents why I can't stay for the entire Thanksgiving weekend. I'm flying out early on Friday morning and coming back on Saturday, Dec 2nd.

Anyone considering this trip????

Gonna book my hotel tonight, I think. There are several options listed on the BB website. I'm flying in on the day after Thanksgiving (the 24th). I'm also staying over on December 1st when the boat gets back and flying back on Saturday the 2nd.

I read somewhere in the latest issue of Scuba Diving that Blackbeard is giving a $100 discount now through Dec. You have to mention something and my magazine is at the office so I cant look it up BUT you should at least mention you saw the ad/article or whatever and see if you can get the discount.
Also, I know when I booked my trip they told me if I could get 6 people the 6th one was free so you may want to check into that too.
As for hotel accommodations, the Port Lucaya is the happening place. The square there has a great free show each friday night. I saw a guy limbo under a stick over 2 beer bottles. I still dont believe it and I saw it - something amazing for sure.
Also there is a guy named Terry who offers a room for $75 that includes transportation to and from the airport and to and from Blackbeards. The place is known as Granny's and the accommodations are well worth it. A very large clean room with a kitchen.
Man, you are gonna love your blackbeard experience,,,get ready for a ton of dives over some terrific reefs. the shark feed is incredible, I can still hear the chain rattling.

I am checking on the $100 discount as it was not available when MCH booked. As for the 6 persons and the 6th is free...Lenny aka MotownCheeseHead had also heard about that but it is not for travel during his stay...we already checked on it!

17 days and couting until I fly down to Freeport. Any last minute takers for this trip? I'd bet they still have room on board! I got myself fired up last week by purchasing a new regulator. Can't wait!!
