Well its time again for the Texas crew to have a get together. Yes that means everyone, Lets just see how many we can get at this one (punk was able to get 5 lets get 10 or more this time). Last time at athens we had a good times with the treasure hunt and the hot tub despite it being really hot. Well in october the weather normally starts to cool off which lends it self to more suitable to camping and a general good time.

There will be a base camp for this event right by dock 1 (same campsite that used last time), and i will be bringing the whole camping set up along with the camp kitchen with me to cook.

If you have any input(requests too) for the the meals let me know as im opinon to ideas. Dinner is in the poll listed above as there are contacts for getting both options.

Cost is estimated at $20 per person for the weekend (Breakfast & Dinner Sat, Breakfast Sun) plus the lakes fees for diving and camping.

Events:

Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest (since halloween is a couple of days later)
Mini photo class (if there is intrest) and can cover what ever topics you all would like.

-Others are working and will add them as they are confirmed.

The details are still being worked out & on but save the date as this will be a event not to be missed. Let me know Tooth

Hey Scubatooth, thanks for doing the leg work and setting this up for us. Count me in. I chose other, because it doesn't matter to me what you decide to cook. I'll go with the majority.

I just want to add a little info for those who have not been at Lake Athens before. If you decide not to camp, there is a hotel close by.

Park Fees:
Entry into Park: $20.00
Non Diver Entry: $10.00
Camping: $5.00 per day
Diving fee per day: $20.00
Night Diving: $5.00

Make sure you bring your C card.
There is a map on their web site.

Can we get an Admin to pin this thread please. Thank you.

William (WRW) didn't set this up, but camping and diving at Athens SCUBA Park sounds good to me, so I'll be there. And if all does go well, like we retrieve the gator without anyone getting killed then hey! I did set it up.

I don't know...WRW...I promised Miss Edna I'd dive with her at CSSP this coming weekend. She wants to try out her new camera housing. Maybe I can convince her to check out Athens instead, but I can't make any promises, but I'd love to join all of you.

Pencil me in, plus Sara - I vote for Sushi, Sara says BBQ cuz it's hard to screw up.

Well darn if I didn't have my wires crossed! I was planning on heading out there this weekend; would have been all alone!

Nothing on my calendar yet in October...dad is having an angio a week before so depending on how that goes I may end up flying back to CA for a bit.

I'm interested in this little adventure. Scubapunk says good stuff about diving at Athens and the weather should be just fine for the hot tub, so count me in!
